"We are honored to once again host and organize the Wakeboard World Championship,” declared Claudio Ponzani, President of FISSW. “The magic of Lake Salto, a place very dear to me, will make the achievements of the world's strongest wakeboarders shine. Wakeboarding is a discipline that has brought Italy many great successes and important medals. We are doing wonderful things; we have an incredible team. Last year we had 46,000 registered members, and this year we will exceed 60,000. We are getting closer to becoming a federation. We will do our absolute best to offer athletes and fans a unique and unforgettable experience, showcasing the hospitality and beauty of this special region.”
From the historical need for an All-Through School Institute in the Valley to the local resilience in the towns of Fiamignano, Pescorocchiano, and Petrella. Parties, plays, and refreshments with the children from single-class and shared schools. At the center, we place the merit and 'miracles' of assistants, teachers, and coordinators - unsung heroes of our time. Kudos from the Petrella Salto Pro Loco, which remains present and supportive with its small contribution throughout the school year.
As for the play's report, yes, Renzo and Lucia manage to get married this time too. After overcoming countless obstacles, the two return to their hometown. The 'core meaning of the story' (il sugo della storia): a profound awareness of life. Troubles always come: problems affect everyone, both those who behave well and those who carefully try to avoid them. Faith does not prevent suffering, but makes it useful for a better life. Hardships serve to prepare for future difficulties and to grow spiritually. A beautiful message that will 'stay' with the children...
This morning, Petrella Salto woke up painted with petals and devotion. A ritual that unites the community and transforms a sense of belonging into art. Because true tradition isn't just shared on social media: it is lived and made, together, in the main square, creating wonder.Â
Hi everyone! I want to send a sincere greeting and best wishes to the new management of the Petrella Salto Pro Loco. For those who don't know, these are very important places to me: my roots belong to the Valle del Salto, to Cicolano, and to my family. I spent an important part of my life here, and I know the beauty and the authentic soul of this land.
That’s why seeing young people choosing to commit themselves to their community is something truly precious. Today, preserving traditions, memory, and a sense of belonging is a significant responsibility.
I wish you, therefore, to work with enthusiasm, team spirit, and the ability to look forward without losing your roots... our roots. I am sure you will bring new energy to Petrella and the entire territory.
A big 'good luck' to all of you and enjoy your work. See you soon!
The feast dedicated to Santa Maria Apparì is celebrated here—a deeply felt and profound tradition that has accompanied the local population through the centuries. The festival takes place on the last weekend of May, in honor of the Marian month, gathering not only local residents but also all those devoted to the Virgin Mary.
The Sanctuary of Santa Maria Apparì represents one of the most important places of devotion in the area: a place of prayer, faith, and love that deeply defines the identity of Petrella Salto.
On Saturday, the statue of the Virgin of Santa Maria Apparì is carried in a procession from the Church of Sant’Andrea, where it remains throughout the year, to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria Apparì.
Le celebrations continue on Sunday with Holy Mass held at the sanctuary, after which the Madonna is brought back to the center of the town. This is followed by a grand procession during which the statue is carried on shoulders for about a kilometer and a half.
The symbolic backdrop of this festival is the cherries, which represent a powerful sign of the apparition: while the young Persiana Faina was gathering the fruit, upon the arrival of the Virgin Mary, all the cherries instantly became ripe.
During the feast of Santa Maria Apparì, the people of Petrella Salto, thanks to the cooperation of the parish priest and his blessing before Holy Mass, organize the distribution of cherries in exchange for donations.
